Plagiarism Policy

JRIT uses iThenticate’s CrossCheck software to detect instances of overlapping and similar text in submitted manuscripts with other published content. The system compares the initial version of each submitted manuscript against a database of 40+ million scholarly documents, as well as content appearing on the open web. This allows APA to check submissions for potential overlap with material previously published in scholarly journals (e.g., lifted or republished material).

Findings of substantial overlap will cause a desk rejection of submissions.
